Microdermabrasion Frequently Asked Questions

Return to Cosmetic Procedures

How long does a treatment take?
Treatment sessions are usually short and can be done over your lunch hour. One treatment usually takes 30 minutes.

How does it work?
A stream of very fine crystals is directed through the handpiece onto the skin to loosen the uppermost layer of dead skin cells. It then suctions the skin cells and the crystals away to reveal fresh skin.

What kind of results can I expect?
Microdermabrasion can improve dull or uneven skin color, relieve clogged pores, soften rough skin, and refine the appearance of fine lines. Many patients also experience increased circulation for a natural glow.

What are the side effects?
Some patients may experience redness, but this usually subsides in a few hours.

"My first reason to try microdermabrasion was because of closed and clogged pores. I had a very bad problem years before and didn't want a reoccurrence. Once I started, I was so pleased with the results, I have microdermabrasion every three weeks. the quality and texture of my skin has greatly improved. My pores have never been smaller and less noticeable. The wrinkling around my eyes is also less noticeable. I have been very pleased with the results and would recommend it for any age woman. I am 57, but a younger woman would greatly benefit from this process just as much because of the new and fresh quality it gives your complexion." L.I.

"I absolutely love the way my skin looks after each time I've gone for microdermabrasion. The staff is extremely friendly and nice. My skin is soft again and most of my blemish marks are gone now. I'm very pleased with the results!"
